As environments deteriorate and natural habitats are destroyed, the impact on people’s lives and livelihoods mount. The latex takes a 3D impression of the site and questions what type of Earth our future generations will inherit. Working with reliefs, emphasises the characteristics of the landscape and in this case draws attention to the infertile conditions of the land. I love pulling back the cast to see the intimate details entombed in the latex. The materials speak about responding to and recovering from adversity and the strength and resilience of community.
