Laird’s practice explores how our landscape is connected to identity, memories and human experiences. This investigation   documents the delicate qualities of the site and the relationship it has with the individuals that reside on it. The cast tells the   story. Working with reliefs emphasises the characteristics of the site and provides an opportunity to consider the physical   aspects of a place. The artist loves pulling back the cast to see the subtle marks and details imprinted in the latex. The   materials speak of transformation and the ability to adapt to new situations.
