My art practice explores how our landscape is connected to identity, memories and belonging. This trio of nests investigates a mother’s role. The delicate soft materials used to line the interior are a stark contrast to the materials collected for the external protective barrier.

Many consider the mother as the backbone of the family, the person who brings everything together. I started to think about how important it is to have a maternal figure that provides love, cares for and supports her children. Her dedication can help lay a foundation for emotional well-being and a strong sense of self. Parenting in the home plays an essential role towards social adjustment outside the home.​
